Ion Raducanu: his work and life. Second edition

I. Raducanu was an outstanding personality of the Roumanian scientific, academic and political life. His economical ideas were coherently integrated in one of the mosi interesting and representative works on economics from the first half of this century. The study of his multilateral activity – professor, rector of the Academy of High Commercial and Industrial Studies, politician, publicist and scholar – offers a series of cogent arguments for his appraisal.

This work is the result of a long research (the partial conclusions were part of the author's PhD thesis completed at the Academy of Economic Studies – Bucharest in 1981) and it is an attempt to offer a systematic account of I. Raducanu's economic ideas.
The most remarkable features of I. Raducanu's economical vision are his originality, thoroughness and his strong and continuos relationship between theory and practice. His work was highly appreciated not only by the Romanian scholars and inlellectuals but also abroad. I. Raducanu was a corresponding member of the Roumanian Academy, member of the Royal Economic Society of London and member of the German Economist Society.
